Jan. 15th to 17th the units such as the ECC, etc. and CEPF jointly held in Beijing " Forum of International Cooperation & Development of Regional Economy of China and 2003 Exchange on Achievements of Green Environmental Protection, Ecological Construction and Regional Economic Projects".
March 1st CEPF and Shanghai Youth Technological Education Center held in Shanghai the "Green Seeds Activity to Aid Schooling Between East and West Regions of China's Green Territory Project". CEPF donated the teaching materials for environmental protection to 300 middle and primary schools in Shanghai.
March 20th – April 6th CEPF and Beijing Youth Daily sponsored the "Commonweal Activity of Planting Trees for Aiding Schooling" at Bulaitun Township of Miyun County at suburb of Beijing. 4,000 volunteers from 78 units of Beijing participated in this activity and raised fund of 155,440 Yuan donated by all circles of the society for planting trees.
March 23rd – 28th under the invitation of CEPF, the 10-men exchange group of Chinese Taiwan of CAFO visited Beijing for exchange. The member of organizing committee of CAFO, the convener of CAFO in Mainland China and General-Secretary of CEPF Xu Qinghua met the representatives of CAFO exchange group of Chinese Taiwan.
April 2nd the Desai special fund of environmental protection for batteries of CEPF held the ceremony of "Aiding Tian Guirong's Green Action" in Zhengzhou of Henan. The fund contributed RMB 14,000 Yuan to Ms. Tian Guirong who was enthusiastic about the environmental protection in recycling used batteries.
June 12th CEPF made a written reply to approve the Bijie Normal High-grade College of Guizhou as the "Environmental Protection Education and Training Base of Chinese Environmental Protection Foundation in Bijie Prefecture of Guizhou Province", and provided the aid of 40,000 Yuan for the base construction.
Oct. 8th CEPF and Shanghai Youth Technological Education Center held in Shanghai the "China's green Territory Project – Green Seeds Interactive Activity for Environmental Protection Between East and West". The middle and primary schools of Shanghai contributed 390,000 Yuan to Maowusu desert area of Yulin, Shanxi in the activity.
Oct. 10th the ceremony for 2nd Chinese Environment Prize was held in the Great Hall of People. Jiang Zhenghua, Vice Chairman of NPC, Zhang Siqing, Vice Chairman of CPPCC, Xie Zhenhua, Director of State Administration of Environmental Protection, Director Qu Geping, and the leaders of 12 ministries and social organizations of the Organizing Committee of Chinese Environment Prize were present at the ceremony. Ji Kunsen, Ma Ronghua and "Green Power" of Hong Kong were the winners of the 2nd "Chinese Environment Prize", QianYi and 10 individuals and organizations such as the Atmospheric Pollution Control Center of Science & Engineering College of Nankai University, Tianjin and the Environmental Protection Administration of Jiangsu Province were winners of nomination prize.
Oct. 23rd the theme activity of "Chinese Environmental Protection in Orientation to Africa" sponsored by CEPF was held in Beijing. Ambassadors from nearly 40 African countries and the resident officials of the international organizations participated in the activity.
Nov. 8th CEPF held the initiation ceremony in Beijing the "2003 10-Thousand-Mile for Environmental Protection of Chinese Cities". The "2003 10-Thousand-Mile for Environmental Protection of Chinese Cities" constituted 40 vehicles and 100 volunteers of environmental protection and news reporters.
Nov. 16th the commonweal activity of "Chinese Green Territory Project – Environmental Energy Saving in Thousands of Families" sponsored by CEPF and supported by Xiamen Manjia Lighting Electronics Co., Ltd. was simultaneously held in the Beijing Oriental Garden (Lize shop), PriceMart (Haidian shop) and Wankelong (Wangjing shop). The organizers of the activity changed free of charge 10,000 environmental energy saving bulbs for the participating citizens.
Nov. 18th the "Activity of Green Aids for Schooling of Geping" initiated and made contribution by Director Qu Geping was solemnly held at Bainiaohe Primary School, Huishui County, Qiannan Autonomous Prefecture of Buyi and Miao Nationalities, Guizhou Province. Under the entrustment of Director Qu Geping, Vice General-Secretary Zhou Guiling issued to the first aided group of 30 students and their parents the student subsidy and the certificate for keeping 30 mu economic forest.
Nov. 22nd CEPF with Green Power of Hong Kong and Guangzhou Green Field Ecological Education Center held the symposium of environmental education experience of middle and primary schools of Guangdong and Hong Kong with the theme of "Sowing Green Seeds in Heart of the Youth". Director Qu Geping, Professor and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Tang Xiaoyan, Vice General-Secretary Zhou Guiling, representatives from Green Power of Hong Kong, Guangzhou Green Field Ecological Education Center and Hong Kong Education Institute, and more than 50 deans and teachers of middle and primary schools of Guangzhou and Hong Kong were present at the symposium.
Nov. 23rd CEPF and the head office of Bank of China jointly held the initiation ceremony of "Link Green Hearts" deposit for contributing interest for environmental protection and news release. Nearly about 400 people of the depositors of Bank of China, employees, students of Peking University and reporters from 60 news media were present at the ceremony.
