Jan. 10^th  the rewarding ceremony of 1st Chinese Environment Prize opened. Premier of State Council Zhu Rongji called CEPF congratulations. The leaders of Jiang Chunyun and Wang Guangying, Vice Chairmen of NPC, Zhao Nanqi, Vice Chairman of CPPCC, Qu Geping, Director of Environment & Resources Protection Committee of NPC, and Xie Zhenhua, Director of State Administration of Environment Protection awarded the certificate and prize to Bo Xiliai and Leading Group of national Protection of Mother River, the winners of 1st Chinese Environment Prize, and 13 winners of nomination prize of 1st Chinese Environment Prize such as Yin Yuzhen etc..
Feb. 7^th  General-Secretary Xu Qinghua and President Feng Danli of Gang Xiang Network Video Communication Co., Ltd. signed the cooperation agreement. The two parties would cooperate on the TV news columns of Hunan Satellite TV – "Global Environment Report" and "Talking about Environment". These two columns would be broadcast simultaneously on 100 local TV stations.
April 12^th to 14^th  one of the series activities of China's Green Territory organized by CEPF, People's Government of Miyun County, People's Government of Dongcheng District, and Green Life Page of Beijing Youth Daily – large-scale activity of tree planting at Miyun Water Ecology Base was held in Miyun, and the employees of CEPF and more than 3,000 volunteers for environmental protection participated in the 3-day tree planting.
May 27^th  CEPF held the first meeting of Standing Councilors of 2nd Council.

May 31^st  CEPF and Shanghai Carrefour Co., Ltd. jointly held the donation activity of "Saving Pandas". The activity would be simultaneously held from June 1 to 9 at 10 Carrefour supermarkets in the east of China. The fund raised would be contributed to the Sichuan Wanglang Nature Reserve for Panda.
June 1^st  Vice General-Secretary of CEPF Zhou Guiling attended the propaganda activity with the theme of "Leaving A Lively Earth for Our Children" jointly held by Beijing Carrefour Co. and WWF. The 9-day activity would be held simultaneously at 27 Carrefour supermarkets in 15 cities all over the country.
June 2^nd  CEPF with Environmental Protection Administration of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Tourist Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and People's Government of Guilin jointly held "2002 Chinese Guilin International Environmental Protection Forum".
July 9^th–10^th  CEPF and the People's Government of Weihai, Shandong jointly held the "International Symposium of Establishing Global 500 Cities and (Chinese) Forum of Global 500".
July 18^th  CEPF named the Guangzhou Green Field Ecological education Center as the environmental education base of CEPF.
Oct. 13^th  General-Secretary Xu Qinghua was invited to attend the discussion sponsored and presided by the United Nations Association of China on application of the non-governmental organizations for the consultative status of ECOSOC.

Nov. 28^th  the ceremony of 2002 "Green Messenger" of CEPF was held in Beijing. Director Qu Geping made the speech on the ceremony, Vice Director Lin Zongtang read out the list of "Green Messenger", and Vice General-Secretary Zhou Guiling introduced the relative background of "Green Messenger" and declared the opening of the mailbox of green messengers. The 2002 "Green Messenger" of Chinese Environmental Protection Foundation were: Chen Lin, Siqingaowa, Zhou Tao, Lin Yilun, Waldner, Zhao Wei and Bater.
