Water School for a Living Yangtze River is initiated to conduct sustainable education for schools and communities in the watersheds of Yangtze and a pilot project of Ten-Year-Action Plan for the Protection of Water Resources by UNESCO. The project aims to restore ecological integrity of the Yangtze River through effective public participation in sustainable water resource management.

　　CEPF raised a fund of RMB 2.77 million for 9 water schools and 2 nature reserves of giant panda in Sichuan province after the earthquake struck these areas in May of 2008. The fund is used in school houses renovation, lab instruments, trainings of water resources protection and research in living environment of giant panda.

　　Key partners of this project are Swarovski, Shangri-la Institute for Sustainable Communities, the National Center for School Curriculum and Textbook Development of Ministry of Education China and UNESCO.
